Job description
We are looking for an outstanding Administrator at our busy Timber Merchants to work with a great team providing clerical, administrative and sales support and to contribute towards the company achieving its goals, objectives and deadlines. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 4.30pm, however, additional hours are offered and expected during our busy periods.
Administrator role responsibilities -
Building excellent working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Serving customers in a timely and professional manner either via email or telephone.
Handling the financial transactions and follow payment procedures. Handling credit cards, account customers.
Supporting the sales team by answering the telephone and providing quotes for customers.
Ensuring all deliveries are planned and relevant documents printed.
Communicate with customers over potential shortages or amendments on deliveries.
Have a flexible approach to work to ensure all areas are covered at peak times.
Key Skills
General business administration experience in a similar role / industry
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to work to deadlines, unsupervised and under own initiative
Attention to detail and the ability to work methodically in a busy working environment
Excellent communication skills both verbal and over the telephone
PC Literate
Flexible approach to working hours with the ability to provide cover and support for colleagues during periods of absence
