Overview:
The Corporate Counsel – Commercial role will be a part of Mitel's global Legal Team and act as a business partner to international stakeholders, focusing on contract management, drafting and negotiations. Additionally, Mitel may require legal support across a number of other functions including HR/ Workers Council, facilities, product liability, trade compliance, litigation, M&A etc. (or a desire to develop skills in these functional areas will be of particular interest).
Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate the terms and conditions of contracts, with a focus on legal requirements.
- Execute templates and/or draft and negotiate contracts.
- Oversee all aspects of managing and administering contracts.
- Meeting business objectives, by working closely with various teams within Mitel (finance, product management, sales, marketing and research and development), while ensuring risks are mitigated and managed.
- Advising managing directors of the Mitel group of companies and departments on corporate law questions
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and corporate policy.
- Developing Mitel’s policies to align with regulatory requirements and internal strategic direction.
- Supporting corporate secretarial and corporate governance needs.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ industry experience (contract negotiation including, but not limited to customer contracts, SaaS platform, software licensing, manufacture & supply, general procurement), data protection and data security, commercial civil law, corporate law).
- Knowledge of and experience in public procurement law.
- Self-directed and motivated with a strong ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Practical and solutions oriented.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work harmoniously in a diverse and changing work environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.
- Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Focus on continuous process improvement.
