An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to join OeRC (Oxford e-Research Centre), an institute within the Department of Engineering Science on a permanent basis. Based on the OeRC reception desk, the post holder is the main point of contact for administrative and facilities tasks for staff based at OeRC.
Due to the nature of the role, the postholder will be required to be on site 5 days a week. Remote working and flexible working requests will not be considered for this post. This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points-based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route. Relocation expenses also do not apply to this post.
You will be an active member of the administrative team in the OeRC led by the OeRC Administrator. You will carry out key administrative duties to a high professional standard and act as a first point of contact for the Centre. You will deliver strong customer service to both internal and external customers.
You will also provide part time PA support to the Centre Director including administrative and secretarial support. You will be a proactive, team player with a positive can-do approach and an enthusiasm for administrative work including handling purchasing requests and travel arrangements.
You must have excellent interpersonal skills, a good telephone manner, good IT skills, and the ability to communicate with a range of people. The ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently and with initiative.
