THE ROLE:
This role has been created to support the content team in creating evidence-based support for couples and families. OnePlusOne is growing its package of online courses to support families in learning communication skills and conflict resolution. We are looking for a creative writer who is skilled at translating scientific evidence into user-friendly resources.
Digital behaviour change interventions
Our resources include engaging videos, animations, text, and interactives, all of which we write in-house. We are looking for someone who can work from a varied evidence base – including literature reviews, impact monitoring stats, and raw data from user sessions – and turn it into accessible engaging resources that real people can use to make positive changes in their lives.
LIST OF ACTIVITIES:
- Lead on written content and strategy for Click, a website offering relationship support and advice.
- Support the content manager with writing educational material which may include scriptwriting, course structuring, editing, and running user sessions.
- Translate evidence-based messages into user-friendly written content.
- Critically appraise the evidence-based messages underpinning the written content.
- Writing: develop, create, and update content for OnePlusOne’s evidence-based courses and resources for professionals.
- Support with creating and editing professional training materials
- Write and edit communications material for publications like e-newsletters and annual reports
- Liaise with external suppliers such as video producers, animators, illustrators, and translators.
- Use Adobe Premier Pro for simple video editing jobs
- Attend and contribute to team meetings to understand organisational and project objectives, and offer insight into social media activity.
- Support the communications manager and content manager to create communication and marketing materials.
- Undertake other duties appropriate for the role as required.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have:
- Relevant experience of working with evidence-based content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write with different styles and tones of voice for different audiences
- Competent in Microsoft packages including Teams
- Ability to translate complex evidence into easily digestible behaviour change resources
- Proven experience of scriptwriting and collaborating with filmmakers and animators
