An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor to join our Unscheduled Mental Health Care Team, with the post being based in Cefn Coed Hospital in Swansea.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual who will become part of an integrated multidisciplinary team.
This role will involve working with adults with acute mental health needs, requiring a period of inpatient treatment, supported by a team of registered and unregistered occupational therapy staff.
The role involves a strong commitment to team working and improving the quality of life of patients. This will include gathering valuable information for assessment, carrying out interventions under the direction of a registered OT and working towards discharge using a recovery focused-approach.
The post holder will be supported to undertake the All Wales Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
The successful candidate will work as part of an MDT to support patients within the Adult Mental Health Service to gain the necessary skills in order to facilitate safe discharge to a less restrictive environment.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
