Job description
We are currently seeking an occupational therapy support worker to fill a full time (37.5 hours) vacancy in the Community Mental Health Team based at the Hywel Dda Centre, in Chepstow.
If successful, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team providing Occupational Therapy interventions under the direction of the qualified occupational therapist (OT).
OT's work with people to establish the impact of their mental health problems on their day to day functioning. They devise person-centred plans for intervention (group and one to one including facilitation of the 'recovery through activity' OT programme) with the person to further assess, improve or maintain their functional ability. Interventions offered in the community aim to maximise opportunities to create meaningful connections in the community and address individual goals in line with recovery based practice.
The successful applicant will:
- have excellent communications skills - particularly non-verbal skills
- have the ability to think creatively and flexibly
- be able to demonstrate empathy, compassion and values of person-centred care.
