We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a real passion for Occupational Therapy within inpatient mental health to become an Occupational Therapy Senior practitioner here at Meadowbrook on Chaucer Ward. Chaucer Ward is an 8 bedded mixed gender PICU.
We are looking for a pro-active and compassionate role model with highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills to support our Occupational Therapy Team in delivering an exceptional standard of care to our service users. We are looking for someone who will role model a ‘can do’ attitude and be flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs of our diverse service and the changing demands associated with an acute mental health care setting.
The Post Holder will be responsible for:
- Coordination of day to day adult inpatient OT Service delivery to ensure effective consistent and equitable access to OT services.
- To contribute to the development and evaluation of the OT service within the care group and take a lead in aspects of service development
- To work with OT Professional lead and Headed of OT to agree strategic professional action plans and implementation.
- Provide OT advice to the MDT
- Provide specialist OT input to the planning, development and evaluation of clinical services, holding responsibility for defined projects.
- offer specialist OT assessments and interventions to a case load of clients of complex needs. Assessments and interventions will identify barriers and support clients to achieving functional goals.
- contribute to the planning, development, provision and evaluation of the OT Services within the Salford inpatient Division as well as taking a lead in aspects of audit, standard setting, research and development.
- They will be responsible for the prioritisation of referrals for OT and the provision of an evidence-based OT service.
- Be responsible for professional provision.
- Provide professional supervision and induction to junior staff and students as well as training to students, staff colleagues and other agencies.
- They will have a flexible approach to working hours to meet the requirements of service users.
- Provide an OT perspective in inpatient management team meetings.
