We require an enthusiastic individual with current demonstrable experience as an Occupational Therapy Technician to join the orthopaedic multidisciplinary team of a large Acute General Hospital and Trauma Centre.
We require a flexible, enthusiastic and motivated individual to work within the Occupational Therapy Team . This is a new post and the post holder will work alongside Occupational Therapists (OT’s) and the wider MDT on the trauma and orthopaedic clinical wards. The successful applicant will be expected to carry a non-complex caseload and to take an active involvement in assessments of daily living, environmental visits and on-going treatment programmes.
Additional responsibilities include delivery of equipment, co-ordinating department equipment loan & wheelchair store, clerical duties and general administration within the Occupational Therapy Department.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
The OT Team provides a 7-day service across the elective and trauma orthopaedics wards. The applicant will require excellent communication and time management skills and have a flexible approach. Post holder must be able to work some weekends and bank holidays.

To perform specific therapeutic (clinical and non-clinical) assessment, treatment and discharge of an identified caseload of patients within the Elective and Orthopaedic wards. The clinical caseload will be allocated and indirectly supervised by the relevant qualified and Health and Care Professions Council registered Occupational Therapists within each area.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties within an agreed protocol within the individuals scope of practice. To ensure competence is gained and retained in all areas in which you practice.
