Job description
We are looking for a passionate, dynamic individual for the post of Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our supportive AHP Team. The role will support the new therapy services Trust expansion and will allow opportunity to develop clinical skills in a fast paced and exciting mental health inpatient environment. The Trust is dedicated to the development of its staff and has wide range of training and career development opportunities available. Applicants must have a strong desire to work within a mental health setting, taking opportunities to develop and learn through use of supervisions and appraisals.
The successful applicant will be expected to work with male service users of adult age on a unit (10 beds) providing intensive support during their hospital admission. They will be a highly valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, working closely with Senior Occupational Therapist on complex assessments, assisting to provide interventions to enable service user to begin their recovery from crisis. The successful candidate will need to have a qualification in physical exercise or be willing to complete the necessary training to support service users to access the onsite gym.
