Job description
Loddon is a both home and school to 30 children aged between 8-19, with severe learning difficulties and autism associated with complex restrictive behaviours. The school is open 24/7, 52 weeks of the year and provides the highest standard of care and education.
We are seeking an Assistant to work alongside the Occupation Therapist and Therapies team, where you will undertake delegated work to assist the team in providing therapy within the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct of the College of Occupational Therapists, and Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
Key duties (full job description will be sent out on application)
· Ability and willingness to work hands on with the children
· Promote and maintain and environment for the students consistent with the highest standards of education, care and wellbeing
· Observe and record students’ progress, feeding back key information and making suggestions for improvement
· Carry out daily activities using treatment strategies, with the support of OT
· Implement treatment plans and highlight any training needs
· Maintain and promote a positive attitude towards the students’ and their treatment programmes
· Demonstrate therapy techniques and motivate staff to use them accurately and consistently
· Participate in activities to support the students and staff
· Attend termly meetings and pre-reviews as required
Experience & Qualifications
· It is an essential part of the role to have experience working with children or young adults with complex needs, including Autism and/or learning disabilities.
· Qualifications are not essential for this post, however having an NV Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools would be desirable.

Salary
The salary range for this position is between £19,419- £20,555 (dependent on experience and qualifications).
