This is an exciting development opportunity for a Band 3 Trainee Apprenticeship Occupational Therapy role within stroke services at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust. Being successful in this application does not guarantee you a place on the University course, but we will support you with your application for 2024, and if you are successful, support you through the course.
To apply for this post you need to meet the academic requirements within the job description, have an awareness of Occupational Therapy and be able to demonstrate why this is the career you wish to pursue. You will be completing basic competencies in Occupational Therapy and will also be responsible for key working non-complex clients, and providing therapy programmes as directed by clinicians. Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust will provide the right amount of challenge and support in which to develop your skills and are active in creating good working relationships within the service through events inside and outside of work.
We are a friendly and supportive team with robust supervision and training in place. Our aim for clients is to prevent unnecessary hospital admission, support them to remain in the environment of their choice and facilitate hospital discharge.
Applicants will require:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to complete manual handling tasks
- Ability to assist with self-care and activities of daily living
- Basic computer skills.
You will be supported by experienced senior staff and will have the opportunity to develop both clinically and professionally, working with junior staff and students.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.
