Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Occupational Therapy Assistant in our East Kent Strengthening Independence Service. We have offices in Ashford, Whitstable, Margate, Dover and Folkestone either of which could be your contractual base however there would be an expectation that you are able to work flexibly across the whole area covered by the team.
You will have a minimum qualification of Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent. You must be competent in clinical assessment and reasoning skills; have effective written and verbal communication.
You should be able to plan, organise and evaluate your own workload; be self-motivated, work well in a team and with other professionals and outside agencies. You will receive day to day support, supervision, and training. Please refer to job description for full requirements of the post.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant role within the team is to triage new referrals identifying if there are any functional needs requiring the provision of core stock equipment. This involves visiting children/young people in their homes, education, or short break settings.
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will assist the Occupational Therapists within the team with moving and handling, housing needs assessments and monitoring of the duty mailbox to signpost queries to the relevant departments within the service.
