We are offering someone the opportunity to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
We are looking for a candidate who is working towards or has successfully completed their level 3/4 in a Health or Social Care related field (or equivalent) and/or with practical experience, which they have acquired through a combination of training and working in the relevant area, with a clear understanding of applicable standards and regulations.
The role will see you working alongside an Occupational Therapist in your team, to support the ongoing review of equipment, both in the home and in a school or early years setting. You will have the opportunity to work alongside children and young people, including their families, to help them understand how to use their equipment effectively and efficiently.
The role is part of a new team that has been created, operating in partnership with the Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Disability Service and SEND Services. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a new and developing team and, as well as expanding your knowledge and skill set, you will have the chance to do your part to establish an innovative service, shaping service delivery and driving forward Occupational Therapy services of children and young people in our borough.
