Due to the move to in-house provision of the community equipment service, we are now able to advertise a full time 12 month fixed term role for an Occupational Therapy assistant within the service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dedicated team supporting the provision of community equipment including assistive technology within Bath and North East Somerset, to help maintain independent living at home for as long as possible.
The role will operate alongside the Senior Occupational Therapist within the Community Equipment Service and within Housing Services who also administer the Disabled Facilities Grant service.
The successful candidate will ideally have basic knowledge of community equipment for adults and children. This would ideally include but not be limited to:
- standard stock and specialist items of equipment,
- lifting equipment, and
- education and training.
We are seeking applications from those who have basic experience, knowledge, skills, and a particular interest in enhancing their skill set within this area of work. Applicants will need to show that they meet the requirements of the person specification which include:
- Five GCSEs including Mathematics and English or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
