Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship (Level 6)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join for individuals who wish to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy but do not wish to proceed through a conventional higher education route.
We are offering a position as an Apprentice Occupational Therapist, level 6 which will entail part time clinical work with our Occupational Therapists, and part time degree level study with the University of Plymouth.
Successful candidates will work as Occupational Therapists and assistants to develop their skills and experience by applying their theory to practice while undergoing their studies.
This is a fantastic opportunity to qualify as an Occupational Therapist, without committing to full time University Study, providing the ability to acquire a salary whilst gaining a professional qualification.
We advise candidates to check the attached person specification carefully, to ensure they have the requisite qualifications to apply for degree level study.
Please apply if you have the below:
GCSE Maths & English (C grade or 4 minimum) or Equivalent Functional Skills qualification. GCSE Science (Grade C or 4 minimum) or science must feature in part of level 3 study.
Level 3 Qualification that equals 104 UCAS points (BTEC, A-Level, Access Course etc.).
Please note that we will not be able to shortlist any applicants with more than 50% prior learning/work experience of this apprenticeship standard [HR Resourcing: hyperlink to the relevant apprenticeship standard on IfA].
This role will require you to undertake work which is relevant to your level of knowledge and experience and will increase in complexity as you progress with your training.
This role also entails working alongside qualified Occupational Therapists to assist in the application of knowledge gained from University Attendance.
The post holder must uphold both their clinical workplace commitments and those for their academic study, completing all necessary work by the deadline and completing clinical placements to a satisfactory level.
Ongoing progression in university study is essential for this position, employment will be unable to continue without academic attendance and eventual degree level qualification.
