Occupational Therapist
Basic Salary: competitive salary, from £18,000 p/a depending on experience
Location: Braintree depot
Hours/Shifts: 18 hrs/week
This an exciting opportunity to join our growing clinical team in Medequip’s Community Equipment Services (CES). We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Occupational Therapist to provide expert advice and support to prescribers, commissioners, operational staff, and the community. You will use your expert knowledge to ensure best practice within the community equipment service and help develop and deliver innovative solutions.

The Role
As the Clinical Advisor/ Occupational Therapist, you will work with the senior management team, referrers, suppliers, and store teams to successfully deliver a person-centred service that supports individuals accessing the right equipment to support their needs at the right time. The post holder is responsible for:
- Providing expert clinical knowledge and advice on the supply, suitability, and procurement of equipment into and from the service; and to maximise the recycling of special equipment.
- Providing comprehensive, specialist support and advice to referrers into the Service and the managers and colleagues within the Service in order to further develop and continue to deliver a high-quality equipment loan service.
- Working collaboratively with health & social care professionals and CES commissioners in the development of best practice for the future provision of equipment, ensuring good clinical governance and safe working practices.
- Joint working with CES managers to ensure TCES Catalogue systems are in place for the supply and distribution of equipment to maximise utilisation and ensuring best value for money.
The Essex CES service is based at our brand new depot in Braintree, where there is already one part time OT on site, and there are other OTs across the region and nationally to link with and work together under the management of the Head of Clinical Services.
