Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient Older Person’s Mental Health service based in Swansea.
We would welcome applications from a Band 5 looking for the opportunity to develop into a Band 6 (over an agreed time period), or an established Band 6.
This post is particularly suited to a motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist who is competent in providing compassionate and person-centred care to service users.
The post holder will provide assessments and therapeutic interventions to patients with complex organic and functional mental health conditions, supporting individuals on the ward environment, facilitating their safe hospital discharges and post follow up support within their own home environment.
The post holder will contribute to the development of the Older Person’s Mental Health occupational therapy service. You will have an opportunity to help shape and promote the service. This will include the contribution to the development of the Mental Health integrated inpatient hub at Cefn Coed Hospital.
We will also consider applications for part time hours.
You will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service.
Alongside the clinical duties, the Band 6 OT provides advice, support and consultation to the wider MDT and provides formal and informal supervision to the band 5 Occupational Therapist and OT support worker staff within the team.
