Main Purpose of the Role
As a member of the Station Operations and Maintenance Team, you will contribute towards delivering on the day to day Operational and Maintenance requirements. To maximize the safe, reliable and commercial performance of the power station you will be responsible for operating the plant both locally and from the control room, and carrying out plant operational routines in line with our procedures, this will include fault diagnosis and breakdown recovery. You will be expected to perform operational duties on a shift basis as required. You will collaborate with Engineering & Outage teams, supporting plant shutdowns and recommissioning as required. As the trend towards increasing volumes of renewable generation continues, you should expect maintenance routines to form an increasing part of your core role.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
Ensure safe Operational practices are implemented.
Support targets and initiatives relating to health, safety, wellbeing and environment, including Mission Zero, NWoW and Business KPIs.
Operate plant in accordance with recognised station standards
Achieve accredited Operator Status.
Actively seek to gain and apply new skills.
Provide Safety from System-derived hazards
Carrying out the duties of the Safety Controller under RWE Generation UK Safety Rules as nominated and Authorised. Minimum standard: category 1 Safety Controller.
Maintenance activities
Develop maintenance skills in order to undertake maintenance during your shift. This will take the form of a variety of routine tasks and disciplines and more complex undertakings as your skills develop.
Emergency Response
Take part in incident response training and site based exercises which test procedures and competence.
Outage support
Work in multi-disciplinary teams to plan and delivery safe and efficient outages. Commission and return the plant to service in a structured and safe way.
