Nutrition Adviser | Lifestyle | Weight Management | Fixed term for a year | Southampton-remote working| Monday to Friday -37.5 hours per week | Band 2 equivalent salary
Spire Southampton Hospital is recruiting for a Nutrition Adviser to join our specialist community weight management service that is responsible for supporting patients through a referred weight loss programme. This role will be fixed term for a year and you will be home based but there will be the requirement for travel to clinics within Hampshire and Dorset.
Spire Southampton provides a wide range of services including day care and inpatient and outpatient services. The main activity is elective (planned) surgery and more complex procedures such as cardiac and spinal surgery are supported by the onsite critical care facilities. The hospital works in partnership with local NHS acute hospital trusts, for example in recent provision of robotic surgery, and there is a large refurbished outpatient department along with extensive diagnostic imaging services.
Duties and responsibilities:
As a Nutrition Adviser you will be responsible for assessing the health and wellbeing of patients referred through an obesity management programme. This will involve providing specific nutrition advice to assist them with achieving weight loss and health goals. You will perform health and fitness screenings (blood pressure, body fat percentage etc) and provide general support enabling patients to adopt new behaviours.
Who we're looking for:
- You will need a recognised qualification in nutrition or weight management
- Knowledge and experience in providing health, nutrition and lifestyle advice
- Good computer literacy as you will be working remotely
- Have a passion for customer service and helping patients
