An exciting development opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and experienced nurse to work with the Workforce, Training and Education Department NHS England Midlands Region for 12 months secondment as a Clinical Leadership Fellow. The Fellowship will be hosted by the Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and AHP Research and Education Excellence (CeNREE) at UHNM.
External funding has been secured for this 12 months secondment to allow for the Clinical Leadership Fellow to support and develop innovative projects focused on the nursing workforce. The projects will be focused on the NHS England strategic priorities, working across the Midlands region and the Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System (SSoT ICS). Candidates must be a registered nurse working within the SSoT ICS to be eligible to apply, from one of the following organisations:
- University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust
- Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
- North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust
- Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent ICB
Fellows will be part of a network of inter-professional leadership fellows and be able to present their work at educational and other healthcare forums.

The Clinical Leadership Fellow will be a senior clinician and registrant who will provide leadership across the development of this work, working collaboratively with NHSE (post transition) and the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC). The fellow will also work with the Regional and National Leads, as well as Service Providers in developing strategies around transforming and developing the workforce in order to support the delivery of longer-term planning post the 50,000 nurses’ commitment.
