If so, we are looking to recruit motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Nursing Assistants or Apprentices to join our dynamic and friendly teams and provide safe and supportive care to our patients. In this post you would be responsible for providing fundamental elements of patient care as directed by the qualified nursing/ODP team to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of dignified and respectful care, in accordance with our policies and procedures. This role includes for example -setting up theatres, positioning patients, acting as circulator to pass all required instruments and items, handling specimens, completing care plans and computer logs. We are looking for people who are compassionate and feel passionately about providing a level of care they would wish for their family and friends. We want to encourage individuals with a care background and those with no previous theatre experience will receive on the job training but prior theatre experience/knowledge would be an advantage.
Direct patient care, communication with the team, working within a team, answering the telephone, setting up theatres, positioning patients, acting as circulator to pass all required instruments and items, handling specimens, documentation, completing care plans, computer logs, caring out .
Successful applicants who fulfil the essential qualifications/skills on the person specification/job description will be offered a Band 2 Nursing Assistant substantive post, subject to terms and conditions. Those who only meet part of the essential qualifications/skills will be offered the Apprenticeship pathway on a 12month contract.
The successful applicants will be based at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Staffordshire in theatres 25 to 29 (however maybe required to work at either Hospital). As provision of care is a 24 hours, 7 days a week career, you will be required to work shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. Enhancements will be paid for unsocial hours.
Appointments to the post will commence at the lowest salary point, respectively, unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services.
