Position: Nursery Manager
Hours: Full time / Mon-Fri / 40 hours
Orangutans day care Nursery are looking for a passionate Nursery Manager to join our team. The nursery is a 43 place setting located in a Urmston, Manchester.
The Nursery is a short 10 minute walk from Urmston Station, with local bus routes also nearby. There is also parking on site.

The Nursery Manager in charge of the Nursery will be responsible for all operational and regulatory aspects, building a vision which is shared by the whole team. The role is a key leadership role in all areas, with responsibility for all aspects of managing a Nursery.
The manager will effectively lead, inspire potential and engage their team to deliver exceptional care and education whilst articulating the attributes of the Nursery, securing Orangutans as the provider of choice for families and employees. The expectation is that this will be delivered by being present throughout the day in the Nursery rooms, engaging with staff and families whilst ensuring the expected levels of practice are consistently applied and fully embedded at every level. The role is fundamental in the delivery of the strategic priorities for all key areas of People, Quality and Growth, and should be delivered through leading and managing by example, role-modelling best practice and observation and assessment of standards and practice throughout the Nursery.
The Nursery Manager has the overall responsibility for the day to day oversight of safeguarding, health and safety practices and child protection in the setting, and maintaining accurate and up to date systems and records at all times.
Essential Experience:
- A strong record of on-going training and/or professional qualifications since qualifying
- Proven experience of working in early years education settings with successful management leading to ‘Good or outstanding’ regulatory inspection outcomes
- Demonstrable track record of driving leadership strength and development of successful ongoing performance management and impact measurements.
- Strong decision-maker, with the proven ability to support change; a secure understanding of the complex relationship between business/commerce and service excellence within the setting, with the ability to follow guidelines and work with others to achieve success
- Experience of developing high performing teams, with a successful record of accomplishment of supporting effective regulatory compliance, quality improvement, delivering high quality innovation and service excellence.
- At least two years experience of leadership, responsibilities.
- A strong understanding of keeping children safe in education.
QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL):
- Full and relevant qualifications as listed on the SFW for manager in day care of children services and to meet terms.
