The HUC team is fuelled by a passion for what we do; by a depth and breadth of expertise; and the knowledge that we are a professional community, working to the same goal.
As a Prescriber, you will join a multi-disciplinary team at Luton Urgent Treatment Centre, to provide access to high quality Urgent Healthcare services within the community.
Using your experience of assessing minor illness and injury gained within an acute and primary care/community setting, you will manage the streaming and prioritisation of patients self-presenting/referred to Luton UTC at the front door. You will determine a clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate discharge for patients with complex and/or chronic illnesses and/or injury, ensuring they are managed in the most appropriate way.
The administration of drugs under PGD’s will be necessary at times, unless you are already an autonomous prescriber.
In addition, we offer the opportunity to curate a role that’s tailored just for you. You'll have the scope to broaden and diversify your clinical expertise by working in more than one of our service areas. This means that in addition to your primary base, you can choose to build a portfolio role, combining this with working in our Clinical Assessment Service, in or out of hours. This could be either from home, one of our primary care bases or one of our regional contact centres.
As someone who enjoys a challenge and thrives in varied role which has a real opportunity to deliver the very best patient care, your enthusiasm and persistence will be crucial. In return you’ll receive great benefits and have plenty of scope to take on new responsibilities, learn new skills and continue to develop yourself.
