Job description
The Nurse Endoscopist/Gastroenterology practitioner will provide clinical support to medical staff and perform endoscopic procedures (Gastroscopy and/or Colonoscopy) with or without sedation on a selected patient group.
- Act as an expert in nursing within Gastroenterology services.
- Provide an autonomous diagnostic endoscopic service to an identified patient group, in the form of Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy.
- Support junior medical staff in providing a quality service to Gastroenterology patients and patients attending endoscopy.
- Develop standards of best practice, protocols and patient group directions in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
- Support Risk Management process within Wirral Hospital Trust.

If successful in this role, there is a requirement for you to have a enhanced DBS. This will be paid for by the Trust and then deducted from your salary over a period of 3 month.
