NPD Technologist - Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for an NPD Technologist to join our NPD team in our Head Office, Wrexham (LL13 9UG). The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs

What would you be doing?
Our Vision as a business is to be the “Go-to” supplier of bakery products, working nationally with retailers such as M&S and Waitrose on their premium private label range and regionally through the Village Bakery brand. As an NPD Technologist you will be directly contributing to this vision through your core tasks and responsibilities these will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the NPD Managers with customer submission presentations – i.e., power point presentations, submission forms etc
- Completing theoretical nutritional calculations and generating manual ingredient declarations using excel recipe sheets
- Supporting with booking and sending products to the lab for testing
- Sourcing of new ingredients, pricing and MOQ’s and ensuring these raw materials are approved by technical departments
- Champion all documentation throughout concept to launch process - including recipes, submission forms, QAS/ CQMs, launch folders, factory paperwork.
- Manage all tasks associated with product launch - organoleptic testing, lab analysis, packaging etc
- Generating cutter guides and briefing into printers / trialling new cutters on plant and approving.
- Responsibility for ensuring that product samples are sent to customers according to agreed specifications and requirements prior to despatch
- Responsibility for keeping an eye on social media and market trends – weekly updates on ‘what’s new!’
- Completion of multiple NPD process documentation to ensure product folders are BRC ready and customer ready ahead of launches
- Lead and support on trials as and when required
What skills and qualifications would you need?
To be a successful NPD Technologist you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:
Essential
- Demonstrable experience within NPD
- Food related degree
- You will be a strong & confident communicator who is proactive and highly organised.
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong self-drive and diligent mindset, with good attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise workload against demand from multiple customers and projects
- Computer literate in all aspects of Microsoft Office
- Conversant with retailer Codes of Practice and Policies desirable M&S, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury's, CO-OP, Morrisons, Lidl.
Desirable
- Bakery sector experience
- HACCP and Food Safety L2
- Food Hygiene Qualified
