Job Description:
We are looking for a Production Operative to work full time, within our flooring production line at Lenham. Previous experience of working within a continuous production line process would be advantageous, however training will be given. Current pallet truck and counterbalance fork lift truck licences are advantageous, but not essential.
Reporting to: Production Manager
Purpose: Operation of various machines, as part of a continuous production process on a flooring manufacturing production line, in a safe, efficient manner to meet production and quality targets. Perform regular product checks that comply with the specifications required. Ensure all required paperwork/data is completed promptly and accurately.
Accountabilities:
- You will be part of a small efficient team of operators on a continuous production process, working to achieve the required level of production output, while ensuring that all significant requirements are met.
- You will be required to operate one of the company's many machines, with a view to becoming multi skilled across the many production processes within the company.
- You will ensure that you work to the high standards of safety, housekeeping and efficiency that are needed which will be demonstrated to you, in order to achieve the required standards at all times.
- You will be given training to understand and embrace the ‘World Class Manufacturing’ way of working and be required to adopt that culture.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and problem solving activities to achieve operational excellence and customer excellence.
Person Specification:
Production Operatives must demonstrate the following competencies:
- A keen, enthusiastic learner, self-motivated with a “can do attitude”.
- Reliable, flexible, hardworking and diligent.
- Good team player and able to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Have a ‘hands on’ and proactive approach to their work.
- Good attention to detail with problem solving and analysis skills.
- Have the ability to respond to changing business priorities.
Experience of working within a manufacturing/continuous production environment would be an advantage.
Hours of work:
Standard hours: Monday to Thursday - 06:00-18:00 (30 minutes unpaid for lunch). Optional hours: If required, a minimum of 48 hours notice will be given for Friday working - 06:00-18:00 (optional additional hours and paid as overtime).
Own transport required due to location.
