Job Overview
- Carry out asbestos removal, encapsulation and environmental cleaning works conscientiously, in full compliance with the approved and issued Plans of Work, current legislation, client's requirements and company health and safety policy and procedures.
- To adhere strictly to the site Asbestos Removal Supervisor instructions and requirements at all times, and report any deviations from plan of work or risk assessment.
- Ensure that all issued Personal Protective Equipment, Respiratory Protective Equipment and Asbestos Removal Plant and Equipment is used correctly, maintained, at all times and treated respectfully, reporting any defects.
Main Duties
- Carry out asbestos removal, encapsulation and environmental cleaning works conscientiously, in full compliance with the approved and issued Plans of Work, current legislation,
- Ensuring that Health, Safety and the Welfare of all employees and others who may be affected by our work is given the utmost priority at all times.
- Ensuring that Legislative on site record keeping they are responsible for is accurate and recorded on a daily basis.
- Attend operational sites and work under the instruction of the supervisor, carrying out work in accordance with the Plan of Works and risk assessments, ensuring that these have been communicated by the supervisor, understood and adhered to at all times.
- Ensure the use of work and asbestos removal equipment is used correctly and in accordance with training and manufacturer's guidance, reporting any defects / issues in a timely manner.
- Fully decontaminate whenever works have been completed or on breaks, preventing the spread of asbestos outside of the work area.
- Attend QHSE and removal meetings as requested, partaking in discussions, consultation and feedback.
- Ensure that their H&S and that of their colleagues is to the highest standard
What we are looking for
- Experienced self motivated person who is able to work as part of a team but has the ability to undertake work on their own
- Must have all relevant asbestos & associated training, be under medical surveillance and face fit tested for each type of RPE used and attend annual refresher training as required.
- Hold a full driving licence, preferably a towing licence.
- Practical Experience of Asbestos Removal methods and techniques.
- Good understanding of current Asbestos Health & Safety legislation, approved codes of practice, & Guidance notes.
- Hold a trade specific CSCS card. (Preferable but not essential) – working towards NVQ.
- Be willing and able to work nationwide covering a variety of contracts
