Larne Community Care Centre is a non-profit facility that operates various support projects for the community including Good Morning Larne, Community Connections, Skools Out Club and Kids Korner Daycare, and Pre-Pre school.

We are looking to recruit a Childcare Manager who will be responsible for the daily and strategic operations of the childcare services provided by Larne Community Care Centre, inc. Daycare, Pre-preschool, After-school, Breakfast Club, and Youth Club.

The Childcare Manager position at Larne Community Care Centre is a crucial role within the organisation. Reporting to the CEO, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of all children's projects, as well as ensuring company health and safety standards are met.

Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities focused on the delivery of innovative programs for children and young people. The primary objective will be to create an environment that enables children to reach their full potential while promoting parental involvement. Key aspects of your role include:

1.Program Delivery: You will oversee the implementation of innovative programs for children and young people. These programs should be designed to cater to their diverse needs, promote their holistic development, and encourage active participation.

2.Compliance and Safety: It is crucial to ensure that all activities within the childcare facility align with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. This includes adhering to The Minimum Standards of Daycare for Children under 12 years and their implementation guidelines. Additionally, the childcare manager will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment by regularly inspecting equipment and facilities.

3.Policy Development and Implementation: The Childcare Manager will actively contribute to the development and implementation of policies within the childcare centre. This involves keeping up to date with industry best practices and ensuring that the centre's policies reflect these standards.

4.Staff Management: As the manager, The Childcare Manager will lead and manage the childcare team. This entails conducting regular staff meetings, providing supervision and support for their professional development, and fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment.

5.Documentation and Compliance: The Childcare Manager will oversee the management of daily paperwork and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and centre policies. This includes maintaining accurate records, monitoring staff qualifications and certifications, and facilitating necessary reporting.

6.Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with the deputy, supervisors, and other senior managers, the Childcare Manager will foster effective collaboration and communication across all levels. This may involve attending senior management team meetings, exchanging information, and coordinating efforts to ensure the smooth operation of all childcare projects.

7.Child Development: It is important to have a comprehensive understanding of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development needs of all children in your care. By identifying these needs and providing appropriate support and creating opportunities for each child to reach their full potential.
