Waste Disposal Operative
Bouygues Energies & Services Solutions - Westminster
Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Waste Disposal Operative to join our Facilities Management team at a central government building in Westminster. This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day from 07.00 to 16.00, Monday to Friday.
The role:
- Reports to the HES Duty Manager
- Delivering and collecting bins according to work order requests, shredding of paper, keeping areas of work clean and tidy and covering external cleaning requests as required
- To take ownership of the compactors and ensure Health and Safety standards are adhered to and the correct waste streams are used
- To oversee pickup of waste by external contractors and adhere to correct administration processes
- To check reactive work orders for specific bins that need to be collected/delivered
- To respond to reactive work orders for spillages and any other cleaning or waste disposal tasks
- To collect shredded waste and restricted bins; shred waste as requested; interact with the private offices for all their requirements
- Working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day from 07.00 to 16.00, Monday to Friday
The person:
- Previous experience in a similar role essential, although training will be given on equipment
- Multi-skilled team-player with a flexible, can-do approach
- Good Health and Safety awareness
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to deliver a high standard of work with attention to detail
- Ability to use own initiative and ability to work under pressure
- Previous deep cleaning knowledge and/or possession of BICS training certificate/NVQ training certificate desirable
- Please note - Employment in this post is dependent upon obtaining security clearance; this requires 5 years’ residency in the UK and a passport.
