Manage the processing team for all mortgage loans and ensure timely and accurate preparation of all first mortgage loans including but not limited to, FNMA conforming products, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), El Paso Bond program, Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Veteran Affairs (VA), construction loans, land loans, and Ent employee loans. Strategically plan for volume and growth within the mortgage department and production support team. Encourage the teams to exceed members' satisfaction and to produce high levels of service for all parties. Promote teamwork and lead the team to understand accountability by taking ownership in their work. Control levels of expectations for standards and for member satisfaction. Stay up to date with current practices in Mortgage Lending.
Essential Functions
- Team Development / Alignment: Direct management and coaching of supervisory staff. Assist with their direct report coaching. Write and deliver performance evaluations and assess and revise performance standards as needed. Evaluate and recommend relevant department skills training based on feedback received from reports and team performance. Foster teamwork and mutual accountability in supervisors and staff.
- Mortgage Production Support Strategic Planning: Works with Director of Mortgage Lending Support and Service and Mortgage Lending Production Manager to build strategy for the future of the mortgage lending department. Development and adoption of new products, fee implementation, utilizing department resources and marketing initiatives. Proactively plan for staffing needs in department based on projected growth. Work on special projects as needed, to include researching new loan programs, industry standards, and new technology.
- Mortgage Production Support Tactical Operations Oversight / Relations: Participate in mortgage teams for production, QC, underwriting, compliance, and P&P updates. Work cross functionally for better delivery of back end mortgage process. Resolve difficult member issues regarding the processing of their loan application to include working with multiple departments. Serves as the liaison for escalated situations for internal and external members, and 3rd party vendors. Keep up to date on Government, Investor, and Credit Union lending policies, procedures, and guidelines. Implement new process and/or procedural changes approved by the Director of Mortgage Production.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field of study.
- 7+ years' experience in mortgage lending
- 3+ years' experience with management/team leadership
Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.
Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong working comprehension of mortgage lending compliance regulations, conventional, FHA, and VA experience for structuring loan programs.
- Strong knowledge of investor and lending regulatory guidelines.
- Solid understanding of underwriting guidelines for multiple loan types and investors.
- Experience with FNMA DU automated underwriting system.
- Ability to understand and apply risk and financial ratios.
- Experience with collateral analysis.
- Experience with reading and understanding tri-merge credit bureau reports.
- Initiative to meet and or exceed standards and willingness to take on other tasks that are not part of their regular job.

- Ability to analyze all required loan documentation from members or other parties (i.e. paystubs, credit reports, assets, tax returns, purchase contracts, title commitment, etc.) and disclosures and recognize potential red flags/fraud.
- Able to perform financial analysis on personal and business tax returns.
- Ability to train staff with clear and concise communication orally and in written form.
- Proficient with computer programs such as the Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.).

Additional Information
The salary range: $88,358.40 to $115,980.80 (S17)
This position is eligible for our corporate bonus program based on company performance.
