We’re now looking to recruit a Workroom Operative for our Hose division, that shares our core values; respect for people, hard work and enterprise, excellence in reputation and making the world a safer place for everyone.
About the role
As part of a small team of Workroom Operatives, your role will involve the manufacture of stock and bespoke hose assemblies, using various pieces of machinery and tooling.
Key responsibilities include:
Following all mandatory H&S requirements, guidelines & recommendations to ensure a safe working environment all times.
Ensuring the working environment is kept tidy & presentable for H&S purposes and customer visits.
Assembling goods following prescribed procedures, ensuring quality and safety protocols are maintained through to delivery.
Picking and packing customer orders following standard procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
Accurately cutting hose to the measured length required, recording short length details.
Carrying out the required testing procedures in compliance with the company quality and relevant standards, complete test certificates.
Ensuring all assemblies made are to specification and safe to be used.
About you
The ideal Workroom Operative will be/have:
Experience of working within a workshop / warehouse environment
Knowledge of health & safety at work policies
Numerate including Metric and Imperial measurements
Knowledge of the Arco Hose, Ducting and Fittings range including pack and coil sizes.
Experience in using machinery
Experience in a fast-moving environment with change an ever constant
Ability to adapt to workload and customer demand changes quickly
Ability to work on own initiative and be part of a small team.
Knowledge and experience of manual handling of large, bulky, and heavy items.
Willingness to work towards NAHAD qualification in hose assembly.
Attention to detail and a methodical approach are essential
IOSH qualification in Health & Safety (preferable)
Knowledge of Arco warehouse systems and procedures(Preferable)
