The Role
Due to an increasing caseload at East Neuk Veterinary Clinic, we have created new opportunities within our team as we are now looking for 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses to join us and help expand our out-of-hours service. Our 7 on, 14 off shift pattern offers the successful candidate an unparalleled work-life balance and the opportunity to earn a high-end salary of up to £30,000pa for working only 18 weeks of the year.
Our Night Nurses will provide high standards of care to our hospitalised orthopaedic referral and general practice inpatients. Vets Now take care of our out-of-hours cases, so we will not be admitting emergency cases overnight. This is a sole charge position with vet on-call support as needed, so the role would be best suited to a confident RVN who is comfortable working independently. Experience of nursing hospitalised patients in an OOHs setting would be beneficial.
About Us
We are situated in a beautiful, picturesque village in the East Neuk village of Fife, a stone's throw from St.Andrew's and with easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee. The area affords an excellent quality of life, benefiting from beautiful beaches and charming coastal villages, with huge potential for water sports, cycling and walking.
The practice benefits from being purpose-built, affording a very pleasant working environment with well-maintained facilities. We have well-equipped, spacious operating theatres with multiparameter capnography, BP and ECG; up to date imaging equipment, including dental radiography, DR x-ray, CT scanner and ultrasound. We have an in-house IDEXX laboratory suite.
About the Team and Culture
We have a friendly and supportive team of 7 vets, 10 nurses and 5 front-of-house staff. Two of our surgeons are RCVS and European specialists in their field of Small Animal Surgery. We support nurse development and have 2 ECC-trained nurses. We are also an SVN training practice as well as a satellite training practice for the University of Surrey veterinary students. The night team will be made up of 3 RVNs on rotation, with intern/diplomate on-call support where needed.
Applicant Requirements
You must be a qualified veterinary nurse, RCVS registered and should be confident in sole charge. Full support can be provided for candidates with no referral experience, and we will provide initial training with the day team before transitioning to nights. Further certification is supported and funded, including access to the Cert VN ECC course.Benefits - Subject to Pro Rata
In addition to a generous salary of up to 30,000pa for an average of just 28hrs/week, we offer the following benefits to our successful candidate:
