Job purpose:
Our Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor in Birmingham is a key role working with our Night Shift Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Night operation where you will lead teams of Night Loaders, Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites in to smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer.
About the Role:
You’ll be joining our business as a key member of the Depot Management team. Working under the Outbound Process (Night Shift) Manager, you will support your Depot by providing strong man-management to all front line staff on your shift. You will supervise a mixed team of contracted and agency staff across our busy night shifts. The Night Shift is key to our business as it is when we receive parcels and items from our clients. To ensure that we can hit the Targets and Service Level Agreements in place we need great Supervisors and Managers. We need Professionals who can motivate, manage and where necessary discipline a diverse workforce to get the best out of them. You will also talent manage and develop your team so that as promotion and more senior roles become available you have the talent to build your team.
You will be responsible for motivating your staff, problem solving on a day to day basis and operationally.
Our Outbound Process (Night Shift Warehouse) Supervisor position is for someone who understands how to motivate staff and can efficiently prioritise pressing needs, where there isn’t an obvious solution. Lateral and original thinking would be a benefit as would logistics experience but we are open to experience gained in other related fields. You must be able to work collaboratively and take the lead on projects amongst your peers.
Our Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor is a Nights based role and shift start times vary.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of up to 50 direct reports providing leadership and direction for the shift
- Develop and train reports and ensure SLA’s are hit for the Night shift
- Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations
- Process BI and MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
Essential skills and experience required:
- Management experience of leading and managing a team
- Experience of managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is a definite advantage
- Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
- PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
- An understanding of Transport regulations ideally
