Job description
We are looking for a Night Manager to join Leman Locke and Buckle Street Studios, London
Are you a natural host? Calm under pressure, with next-level organisational skills? Do you find satisfaction in creating seamless hospitality and memorable experiences?
As the lynchpin of the night reception team, overseeing the Night House Hosts and reporting to the Assistant General Manager, you’ll make sure guests feel genuinely special – from the day they reserve, until the minute they check out, and everything in between.
What it looks like.
- Creating tell-your-mates experiences that make guests want to keep coming back
- Be the “go to person” to ensure that we are taking care of our guests and teams well-being during the evening
- Being an authority on local goings-on and inspiring guests with new ideas
- Being a friendly face and go-to person for guests, contractors and visitors
- Recruiting, onboarding and training top notch talent
- Leading the Night House Host team and empowering them to own their role as face of the hotel
- Coaching and being accountable for the front-of-house team, including rota management and setting SMART objectives
What you'll need.
- Love for hosting communities and creating thoughtful spaces
- Human-led leadership skills and experience managing a team
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Natural influencing skills with a knack for managing expectations
- Dash of creativity, flexibility and a habit of thinking outside the box
- Brain built for problem solving and reliable decision making, with confidence in crisis-management
But most importantly they are humans like us. We don’t believe in a work persona, we avoid hierarchy and we lead with empathy and honesty.
When guests return home inspired, with stories to tell and discoveries to share, you will have been successful. They will come back more often and tell others. This will be the tale of Locke.
In return we offer you a competitive salary, bonus scheme, holidays (including the option to buy more if you want them), a host of wellbeing benefits (Cash Plan, Life Assurance, Long Term Income Protection, an Employee Assistance Programme…), free nights in our properties, awesome incentives and recognition schemes, pension (the tax efficient way), company sick pay and further benefits tailored to your individual needs.
But most importantly, we offer you a lead role in our story and the chance to write your own chapter.
When and Where?
We believe in working flexibly – this includes flexibility in work location, working days (including weekends and bank holidays in operations) and working hours. This may be ad hoc or permanent flexibility. Ask your recruiting manager or see our careers page for more information.
You’ll work 38 hours per week, across four nights per week (4 on 3 off).
Leman Locke is the original Locke. It opened in 2016 and is just two minutes from Aldgate East, a short stroll from the City and around the corner from Shoreditch and Liverpool Street. Next door, you'll find Buckle Street Studios, one of the newest developments in our growing portfolio. You’ll be hard-pressed to find an East London hotel or serviced apartment with a better location than these two.
