Materials Operator
£24,000 per annum
Birmingham
Having worked in a warehouse environment and gained a FLT licence you are ready for a new job opportunity with the world expert in making coatings. Operating in over 150 countries, AkzoNobel is home to well-known brands, such as the UK’s favourite Dulux paint, and has been awarded Top Employer status in the UK. We are also a key supplier of coatings for food, beer & beverage and aerosol cans and are looking for a warehouse professional to support our logistics function at our COMAH site in Birmingham.
The Role
- Loading outbound vehicles
- Unloading intercompany materials
- Ensures production is supported by aiding the movement of stock on site into the main warehouse
- Managing the safe & prompt disposal of waste into the correct waste streams & organizing collections
- Monitors stock levels
- Works safely & stores high hazard chemical goods safely
- Records goods received & ensures finished goods are accurately picked, organised & labelled ready for the daily collections
- Manages data logging on our ERP (SAP) system
About You
- Experience of working in a busy warehousing environment (Chemical preferred)
- Counterbalance Fork-lift truck licence
- Has a basic Math qualification
- IT literate & comfortable using SAP & ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enjoys a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key
- Able to prioritise workload
