Role Overview
To monitor hotel security, serve room and drinks service to guests, carrying out cleaning duties. Ensuring hotel public areas are to the highest possible standards. Assist guests with requests or enquiries. Commitment to Quality All staff are expected to care for our customers in a friendly, helpful, efficient and professional manner at all times.
- Be responsible for night operations, guests and staff in the absence of the Nights Manager
- Handle all queries promptly ensuring the customer receives friendly and efficient response
- Ensure all areas are secured and carry out regular security checks throughout the night
- Prepare and serve food and drink from the 24 hr menu upon request to residents
- Ensure all food and drinks served during the night are charged for, and to ensure no revenue is lost.
- Undertake the check-in and check-out of guests, ensuring that all accounts are settled before departure
- Operate the early morning call system, ensuring all guests receive their call as requested
- Organise taxi or transport for guests, also staff, if authorised by Duty Manager or General Manager
- Control of music and lighting in all public areas
- Set up and breakdown conference and banqueting rooms as and when required as per Company standards, function sheet or instruction from the Duty Manager
- Ensure all function rooms and public areas are cleaned to the required standard when required
- Collect in breakfast cards from bedrooms, prepare and serve early trays
- Ensure that only residents are in the hotel at the end of functions
- Keep all bars secure at all times and serve guests where needed
- Report any maintenance defects to Duty Manager at the end of the shift
- Ensure that no staff come into the hotel during the night when off duty, unless authorised by General Manager or Night Manager
- Prepare the function board for the following days meetings
- Be available for training and staff meetings as requested in absence of manager
- Manage direct reports performance effectively to ensure department runs safely and efficiently at all times Health and Safety
- Adhere to Health and Safety Rules, Notices and obligation
- Be aware of hazards with regard to electrical equipment and installation, hazardous substances, manual handling and hygiene, by reducing the risk.
