Newly Qualified Social Workers in the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
SO2: Starting salary £37,653 pa rising in annual increments to £38,934 pa incl LW

As a Lambeth Newly Qualified Social Worker you will be encouraged and supported to undertake purposeful, creative and innovative relationship-based social work with children, families and communities.
You will be placed in small, friendly and supportive teams that will enable you to develop your skills in working confidently to identify needs and risks so that we intervene only when required and when it is in children’s best interests.
You will join our ASYE Academy with a cohort 21 NQSWs and in addition to the supported offered within your team, you will be paired with an experienced mentor who will support you to meet the requirements set out in the Post Qualifying Knowledge and Skills framework. You will spend the majority of your time on direct work with children, putting your learning into practice in one of the most diverse and complex boroughs in the country.
During your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment, you will develop your practice and consolidate your learning within one of the following service areas (Children Looked After, Child Protection, or Referral and Assessment). This is to give you solid grounding in one particular area, but as part of your professional development you will have created opportunities to experience a wider variety of work alongside other services within the child’s journey in Children’s Services
If appointed, following successful completion of your ASYE you will move into a Social Worker role earning up to £40,503.
