Job description

This amazing narrative games studio working on exciting new titles for console and PC is looking for a Generalist Programmer to join their new studio.

Overview:

The role’s primary function is to help build the systems that allow content creators to effectively and efficiently create the content for our game. Although it will be involved with all parts of the game code, the Generalist Programmer will have the chance to specialise in specific areas based on interest and need. The ideal candidate loves working on narrative games and enjoys figuring out new pipelines and workflows.

This is initially a 1-year contract with a view on becoming a permanent position. The preferred work location is hybrid (between the office in London and home).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with content creation teams to develop efficient workflows for those teams
  • Creating and maintaining custom development tools and extensions in Unity
  • Creating external tools and scripts to automate pipelines
  • Development of various parts of the core logic for the game in Unity based on experience and affinity (e.g. multiplayer, lighting systems, UI systems)
  • Daily support for the content teams using your systems and tools

What you will need:

  • Experience with game engines
  • Comfortable in C#
  • A good working knowledge of common game development pipelines
  • Experience with development in Unity is a plus
  • Experience with tools creation is a plus
  • Experience in a particular area such as UI or multiplayer is a plus
  • A professional and result-driven attitude
  • Great deduction skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • A broad interest and drive to take on any aspect of the game code that needs work
  • Be creative and driven to find solutions to new challenges
  • Good communication skills in English (both oral and written)
