University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is the principal provider of acute hospital services for the residents of Derby, Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas including South Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire.

As part of an incentive package to all of our Newly Qualified Nurse’s you will receive a payment of £1,000 as a welcome to the Trust: subject to our terms and conditions of staying with the Trust for a minimum of 12 months.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent support to our newly registered nurses by offering a comprehensive preceptorship programme, which aims to facilitate the transition of the student nurse to the role of qualified practitioner by supporting the development of essential knowledge and skills. Our preceptorship programme is well established and successful: we guide and support all Newly Qualified Nurse’s and ensure you have a structured period of transition to support you throughout your career.

We have both full time and part time opportunities available in:
Medicine,Surgery and Cancer Services across the wider trust.
We also have limited opportunities for Rotational Position.
Additionally we have a very limited opportunities for NQN's in ICU. These positions will only be considered for those students that have had placements in ICU. You must clearly state in your personal statement that you have ICU experience.
Unfortunately, currently we do not have opportunities in Theatres for newly qualified nurses.
