Role Purpose
To provide In-Market Record-to-Report (R2R) expertise; be responsible for management reporting, facilitate In-Market financial support to Lawyers and Practice Groups
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate reporting, and analysis, of local Firm financial results
- Monthly review of the financial performance of all Practice groups with Business Managers and provide high-level commentary for submission to the London Office Management Committee
- Analyze key metrics and levers to manage, and improve, performance
- Provide detailed analysis and information needed to explain and drive financial initiatives and priorities. Actively collaborate with fee earners and business managers to drive profitability improvements
- Assist in the preparation of the London office income and direct costs budget and regular forecasts. Work with and question practice group submissions
- Provide support to the EMEA+ finance team to coordinate the annual budget process across EMEA+
- Preparation of ad-hoc evaluation reports for all fee earners including the annual APS reports and Partner and Senior Associate evaluations
- Provide financial information and support to the APS and Remuneration Committees
- Ad-hoc reporting including, but not limited to, client, matter, timekeeper, practice groups and firm-level reports
- Completion of periodic surveys on the Firm's performance
- Coordinate and manage the execution of finance-related projects and initiatives
- Support Global initiatives and help ensure they are implemented in alignment with strategy and guidelines
- Work closely with the Senior Reporting Accountant to provide a coordinated service to practice groups

About The Team
Function
The Finance function provides the following services to the Firm:
- Supporting strategic decision-making from a financial and business perspective
- Managing cashflow, including accounts payable, credit checks, billing, and collections
- Ensuring firm-wide purchasing excellent and efficiency
- Financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts
- Securing financing across the global firm
This role will report to the Associate Director - Business Reporting, Finance & Accounting.
The key relationships of this role are with the following:
- Q2C, R2R & P2P teams at location
- In-Market Business Teams
- In-Market lawyers and management
About The Candidate
Technical skills, qualifications and experience
- Part or fully Qualified Accountant with an appropriate recognized accounting body
- Experience in a relevant professional organization
- Experience in operational efficiency and financial accounting
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk and take decisive, appropriate actions, especially in the case of exception requests
- Ability to network and collaborate with teams both regional and global, while acknowledging their cultural, social, and academic diversity
- Working proficiency in using MS Office (experience in excel macros preferable but not essential) and other Productivity Tools
