Job Title: Network & System Support
Locations: Huntingdon
Due to the sensitive nature of this role you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

In your role as a Network & System Support, you’ll bring your technical expertise to bear on interesting and challenging problems within Cyber Security. You will solve real-word problems for customers and deliver solutions in an agile manner and ensure we build exactly what they need to time/cost/quality. What you’ll do:
- To support delivery/deployment of aspects of an IT and/or Network Security procedure or processes, operations and architectural solution or network/security build.
- Monitor and response to security/network incidents, work closely with customers and Operational Support teams to resolve requests and incidents in an accordance with contracted Service Level Agreements.
- Complete fault tickets accurately and with the required detail to produce a summary report.
- Support with Change/Asset Management to identified changes or equipment/spares needed to resolve an Incident.
- Support, track, manage and own routine and maintenance activities.
- Ensure field teams are performing the routine and maintenance tasks, liaise with Resource Management to obtain the correct skills to undertake the tasks.
- Be responsible for keeping the environment patched using the relevant Standard Operating Procedures and assist in system administration activities.
- Actively carry out routines including system/network health checks, ensuring relevant metrics are captured and available.
- Be an escalation point for on-going problems that may affect service operations and be responsible for the lifecycle of assigned problem tickets.
- Providing support on system maintenance and liaising with relevant subject matter experts to resolve faults.
- Undergo additional training to match operational requirements and equipment.
What you'll bring:
- Networking, Windows, and Linux knowledge.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively, to deliver on agreed deadlines.
- Experience of 1st line incident detection, hunting, and response as well as the ability to analyse and manage response activities.
You might even have:
- Network Transmission – e.g. Ciena/Fibre including the monitoring of Fiber Networks.
- Cisco CCNA or Networking Experience.
- Experience in supporting a Network infrastructure
- Industry Recognised Qualification from bodies such as COMPTIA
- COMPTIA Security+/Network+
