About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Thames Water as a Network Service Technician.

We are paying up to £37,680 + you will get additional standby payments. This role also comes with a van.

As the role involves driving daily, the ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and be happy to drive between jobs.

The working pattern will consist of Monday -Friday, as well as Standby weeks that will incorporate working weekends over an 8-week pattern.

This is an exciting and varied customer-facing role where day to day you will be resolving customer network challenges to ensure minimal disruption to customer supply.

You will be meeting and helping different people every day, working on a variety of projects ensuring that the best service is given to our customers.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Taking personal ownership of customer queries and responding to and resolving issues at their homes or places of work.
  • Working with contractors to do planned and unplanned work and investigating clean water networks to resolve poor performance including high or low pressure, leakage, metering queries and loss of supply out in the field.
  • You will also help control burst mains ensuring isolation to facilitate planned work, emergency repairs and maintenance.
  • Looking after valve operations and water sampling and valve checks and planning
  • Work well within a team covering core and standby hours through all hours of the day (on standby rota).
  • You will receive a comprehensive training plan, so no experience is needed just the desire to learn and excellent customer service skills.

What you should bring to the role

  • Have excellent customer service experience.

  • Have excellent time management.
  • Have a solution focussed attitude.
  • Having a basic knowledge of domestic plumbing or water mains and leakage would be advantageous but not essential as full training is provided.
  • Our customers are at the heart of everything we do so previous customer service experience within a constantly changing environment is essential.
