This is a Hybrid Working role with a requirement to attend our London office twice per week, at the beginning of every week.

Reporting into the Senior Network Modelling Manager you will build and apply leading network tools to optimise the RMG network. The role will evolve but remain focussed on data, objective insights, and enabling an enduring modelling capability.
About the role
Your role is crucial in using data, analytics, and different modelling solutions to optimize solutions and operations, enabling data-driven decision-making across RMG to deliver value for our customers, our people, and our shareholders.
You will have the ability to turn data into models, and solutions, using proprietary tools and bespoke (own developed) models. You will work with our consultancy and modelling partners to transition modelling capability into Royal Mail, and be the expert on modelling approaches and process. You will apply data into models, and effectively and successfully translate into insights and recommendations.
You will be the ‘super-user’ on proprietary network and logistics modelling tools, and expert in model building, logic, and architecture best practice. You’ll build upon external perspectives and apply across a range of model scope within the RMG network.
You will conceptualise real-life, and data, into models, working with discretion when dealing with confidential information. You’ll be capable of managing tasks/projects with aggressive deadlines/time-sensitivity, and manage multiple internal stakeholders effectively.
To truly excel in this role, you’ll possess, and be able to evidence, the skills and experience listed below:
- Be seen as the modelling subject matter expert
- Extensive experience of modelling tools & approaches, ideally including Coupa, Llamasoft, CAST or equivalent
- Experience of designing, building & applying own models
- Proven experience of modelling governance & control
- Experience of optimization logic and leading modelling methods
- Experience of structuring models
- Understanding and experience of handling large data sets and models and how it can be used to drive decision making and transformational change across the organization for business value
- Experience documenting outputs and insights
- Engaging / interpersonal
- Structured & process driven
- Effectively prioritise multiple and challenging / conflicting workload requirements in conjunction with Operational colleagues
- Ability to create and work within a virtual team environment
