Your role

Do you have a commercial mindset? Are you interested in strategic market developments? Are you keen to challenge and uphold best in class service from our providers? We’re looking for someone like that who can:

  • manage commercial ownership of all securities and cash product related spend, managing fee negotiations, cost avoidance and reduction. Achieving spend and unit cost transparency leading to accurate forecasting.
  • executing securities related project with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external
  • manage interfaces to business stakeholders and provide cross divisional coordination and support
  • actively engage with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, supporting and coordinating initiatives and enabling access to providers' product developments and initiatives.
  • maintain and manage relationships with providers (agents, market counterparties and market infrastructures), allowing a holistic view of relationships across all entities and products
  • through active stakeholder engagement, project and change management, achieve commercial best practices for the group. Extracting improved risk/service/innovation value from the managed supplier relationships (providers and utilities) as well as cost reductions.
  • analyze impact on industry regulatory changes for the UBS group, maintain awareness of current market activity, keeping an eye on how this aligns with key risks

Your team

You’ll be working in the Network and Market Infrastructure Market Management team in London.

We are responsible for the network of relationships with third party post trade providers' including agent banks and market utilities (CSD, CCP) that UBS contracts with to provide custody, clearing, and settlement services. NMI is responsible for provider strategy, commercial management, delivery of cost savings, account inventory maintenance (including opening and closure), processing of invoices, market intelligence, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

You will be required to manage Agent Banks and Markets within the EMEA region, in accordance with UBS policy, Operations Risk framework and regulatory requirements

Your expertise

  • an understanding of post-trade banking operations and third party provider landscape
  • an appreciation of the impact of regulatory guidelines and requirements, especially FCA CASS rules
  • focused on risk management and remediation
  • keen to synergize ideas within a global forum
  • able to assess new ideas and provide implementable solutions
  • a strong communicator and comfortable in challenging peers and senior stakeholders
