Travis Perkins has the need to invest in the growth of its Network support and deployment team. Travis Perkins is the perfect place to expand your horizons, help build on the internal skills of the team and really have an influence on the shape of our future.

We are currently seeking an experienced and original thinking Network Engineer to play a crucial role supporting the branch network (700+ locations). Innovative, logical and practical, you must have at least 5 yrs experience within a support role, ideally in a fast-moving environment. Exposure to enterprise technology solutions and knowledge of large scale infrastructure transformation and migration activities are highly desirable.

You’ll be part of the Network Services team, reporting directly to the Network Services Manager.

You’ll Ideally be Certified to CCNP or CCNA level.

We are also looking for experience in the LAN/WAN switching and routing arena. Knowledge of product sets and Management platforms would also be advantageous in supporting the current estate. You’ll need to be a self-starter with a keenness to investigate new problems and an ability to think out of the box to provide a solution. You will also need to be detail oriented and diligent in covering day to day activities.

There is also a need for you to work out of hours in support of the team in order to keep the networking estate patched and secured.

Good customer service and relationship management is essential for the role. You’ll be working with people at all levels of the business so clear and concise communication skills are a must. Familiarity with Change management processes is also essential to the role

Management Tools - Solarwinds, NM-LAN/SAN, Wireshark.

Technology - Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Fortigate, Fortimanager, SSL VPN.

Architecture - Previous experience with IPVPN, MPLS, AWS and GCP would be advantageous.

You’ll also need to be flexible, open to any task requested of you and have the ability to communicate effectively and concisely at all levels of the business
