Job description
We’re currently looking for a Network Engineer to join a large IT Infrastructure firm based in Cornwall. The role offers some remote working and will suit candidates that have 2+ years working at Network Engineer level.
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000
Location: Cornwall (Some remote working available)
Specific accountabilities for the role are listed below:
- Monitor the Network for any issues, trends or performance related problems
- Receive alerts from the suite of monitoring tools and respond appropriately according to agreed Service Levels
- Manage and coordinate the NOC response to any alerts through to successful resolution
- Produce data and statistics to be used for Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting purposes
- Maintain a full Inventory and related documentation for all network circuits
- Triage all Incident and Service Request tickets to ensure agreed standards are being applied and adhered to
- Raise Change Requests in adherence with the Change Control process
- Execute agreed tasks and approved Change Controls, on behalf of the Network Services team, where they can be performed remotely and after 18:00hrs
- Representing Network Services at Change Advisory Board, Daily Service Reviews and Weekly Service Review meetings
- Create, maintain, and update all Network documentation, processes, inventories, and tools
- Fostering collaboration and transparent communication between other IT teams to provide an excellent IT service
- Identifying and undertaking Service Improvements in line with the IT strategy and road map
- Identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact and implementing improvements
Key skills and experience required:
- A minimum of 2 year’s experience supporting a large network infrastructure or a current Cisco CCNA accreditation
- Experience managing Incidents and all related communications
- Experience using monitoring, alerting and DCIM tools
