Job summary
The Network and Security Team are looking for a Network Engineer who can assist in the installation, maintenance, development and support of the organisation’s network infrastructure. We have over 1,300 wireless access points and thousands of miles of network cables, all supporting key government services from healthcare provision and the States Assembly to schools and colleges, and the States of Jersey Police.
As a Network Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to work on one of the largest and most complex networks on the island, and will implement the highest standards of security and resilience. You’ll be part of the team who are responsible for the availability and performance of the organisation’s datacentres and communications uplinks to internet, cloud services and third-parties, delivering to the business need.
You’ll need to have an aptitude to obtain an ITIL foundation certificate, or already hold one, be Certified in IP networking to an industry standard, or have a desire and aptitude to progress training within the role. You’ll have or quickly develop excellent technical knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, IP telephony and voicemail systems, and will have technical experience around routing, switching and firewalling technologies.
