Project Network Engineer - VMWare, Security, configurations, HLD, LLD, LAN, WAN, VPN, Outside IR35 12 Months
A fantastic long-term contractual opportunity has arisen for a proven DV-cleared Network Engineer. The framework is currently going through an upgrade of its core products and supporting infrastructure, as well as the development of new capabilities to meet the growing needs of government users who need to communicate and collaborate. You will provide technical engineering services to the Project and will lead the delivery of key network engineering objectives aligned with strategic initiatives.
You will be responsible for the development of network services that deliver secure, scalable, performant on-premise (and a small amount of public cloud) network infrastructure solutions in support of current and future business needs.
You will design, implement, administer, and support network infrastructure technologies, solutions, and services.
Experience and Technologies
You will have experience in secure, resilient network architecture and expert technical hands-on network experience.
You will have experience with VMware networking and security virtualisation in particular NSX and including V to T migrations.
You will have experience with hardware-based network high-grade cryptography and in particular implementing it in a high-threat environment.
You will have experience in designing and implementing Juniper networks including Junos OS for automating network operations.
You will have experience in implementing and managing Palo Alto firewalls, particularly in high-speed data centre scenarios.
You will have experience in documenting network configurations and creating runbooks. You will have experience contributing to HLDs, LLDs, and configuration documentation in relation to SD-DC, Core DC Fabrics, DC Interconnects, LAN, WAN, VPNs, and Firewalls.
You will demonstrate an understanding of information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within network solutions and services.
You will have a proven track record for delivering large-scale IT projects, with direct responsibility for designing and implementing highly available and resilient network solutions.
The ideal candidate will have recently worked for another government organisation delivering a similar role.
