The Net Zero Implementation function, with its in-house renewables design and project management team, in-conjunction with our strategic partners, can provide a range of services covering the design and build of solar, wind, battery, green hydrogen, biomass, and heat pump systems, for small commercial up to utility scale applications, from initial concept through to final connection either in front of or behind the meter.
The role
As the Net Zero Project Co-ordinator you will support the project managers to ensure that projects are delivered, from formation of the initial concept with the Client through to the physical implementation on-site.
You will also play a key role in contributing to the development of processes as we grow the function together, taking on a broader range of projects of differing technologies and increasing complexity. Responsibilities will include:
- Support the project management team by coordinating project activities, resources, and information.
- Support in the production of detailed written technical documents
- Create Product Breakdown Structures (PBS) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), assign tasks to internal/external teams and assist with schedule analysis and reporting.
- Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives to ensure that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve.
- Help prepare budgets, track actual spend, and create forecast spends.
- Support project procurement processes including getting quotations, raising purchase orders, and processing invoices.
- Gather, analyse, and present data relevant to the project.
- Act as the point of contact for all projects and communicate project status to all participants.
- Administer the functions systems and processes to ensure they are up to date and effectively assisting with the management and reporting of the portfolio.
- Travel to the office and visit client sites for meetings, surveys, and to liaise with site supervisors
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will be determined and personable, with a positive can-do approach. Other required knowledge and experience includes:
- Confident IT skills, in particular a competent user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Knowledge of end-to-end project management processes.
- A structured and methodical approach to project management from initial concept through to final commissioning and handover.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and in a confident, clear, and friendly manner with a professional approach.
- Ability to use own initiative, solve problems with minimal supervision and think outside the box.
- Conversant across disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, control & instrumentation etc.
Although not essential, it would be desirable if you have knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drawings, renewable energy technologies including their benefits, limitations, and applications, and relevant industry standards and certification schemes for the different technologies. Other desirable experience includes:
- An engineering degree or relevant experience in the engineering of renewable energy systems and/or utility infrastructure works.
- Previous involvement with the engineering, design, and physical installation of renewable energy systems and/or utility infrastructure works.
- Experience in the Energy, Utility, Building Services, Engineering or Construction industries.
- Project Management such as PRINCE2 by Axelos, Project Management Professional (PMP) by the PMI, or Project Management Qualification (PMQ) by APM or similar.
- Site health and safety qualifications such as National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or similar.
