We are currently undertaking an exciting expansion of our Neighbourhood Teams and are seeking applicants for Neighbourhood Officers roles across our three business areas:
Neighbourhood South (Covering Stockport, Openshaw, Tameside and surrounding areas).
Neighbourhood North (Covering Blackburn, Burnley, Halifax, Huddersfield, Salford, Rochdale, Trafford, Warrington, Bolton, Bury and surrounding areas).
Neighbourhood Central (Covering Moss Side, Hulme, Rusholme, Longsight, Withington, Whalley Range, Chorlton, Didsbury, Wythenshawe, Harpurhey, Moston, and surrounding areas).
Our Neighbourhood Officers promote and contribute to a high quality, customer-focused housing service that is designed to promote sustainable tenancies across all of our key communities. You will manage a patch of general needs properties with tenancy and estate management responsibilities.
You will contribute to a strong performance culture ensuring that the Group’s rental income is maximised by the control of rent arrears in accordance with the Group’s policies and procedures and the Neighbourhood management function is carried out in full.
What you will be doing:
Establish and maintain respectful landlord / tenant relationships.
Ensuring that Causes for Concern are dealt with as efficiently as possible and in line with the Group’s Safeguarding policies and procedures.
Carry out tenancy inspections to residents' homes, addressing any tenancy related issues and make appropriate referrals where necessary.
Carry out regular scheme audit and estate walkabout.
Work in close partnership with Community Safety, Customer Support, Lettings and Resident Engagement teams to promote safer and more sustainable communities.
Lead on high level rent arrears process from Notice of Seeking Possession onwards.
Preparation of court documentation and ensuring compliance with the pre-court protocol throughout the rent arrears process.
Attend court hearings and carry out evictions on behalf of the Group, as and when required.
Deliver Operational Plan and develop and strengthen partnerships internally and externally of the group.
Engage in community engagement and regeneration activities.
We are looking for someone:
Full driving licence and willing to travel across the Northwest.
Good Standard of education with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent grade C or above, including Maths and English.
Experience of working in pressurised environment and excellent time management skills.
Experience of working in a team and meeting deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional manner.
Customer focused with a desire to provide services to a high standard.
A relevant housing qualification is desirable but not essential.
